Photo stations solar recharging points- SPSolar

We must forget about the traditional gas stations. They will disappear? In this post we talk about the evolution of charging points for electric cars and how they are going to be much more sustainable.

Electrolineras, Photolineras … What is a photolinera? Recharge your electric vehicle with solar energy and save on the electricity bill is already possible. We explain it to you!

An electric station is an electricity recharging station for electric vehicles. A Photolinera is an electrolinera whose electricity does not come from the electrical network, but is generated by a photovoltaic station associated with it. Today, we explain the photo stations or recharging points with solar energy for electric vehicles, doubly sustainable because they are efficient and ecological.

What are photo stations or solar recharging points for electric vehicles?

The Photo Stations are recharging stations for the electric vehicle whose energy comes from solar panels, normally installed on the roof of the facility. They have the great advantage that they offer green energy.

On the one hand, photo stations use clean recharge energy: solar energy that is renewable and does not pollute. In addition, the energy they produce is not wasted and is not wasted, but is stored in the system. For this reason, they are doubly sustainable electric car charging points.

A curious fact from 2025 on, solar panels will be mandatory in commercial and public car parks; at least in the Balearic Islands where they have approved this requirement within the framework of the Law against Climate Change.

How do photo stations work?

Surely you are curious and want to know how this type of charging point works. Well, it is easier than it may seem.

During the sunny hours the photo station generates enough energy to recharge the electric vehicle; and the energy that is left over is stored.

On cloudy days, or with fewer hours of sunshine, the installation of solar panels in the photolinera continues to generate energy, but in less quantity, being compensated with the energy it has previously stored. At night, of course, the stored energy is used.

Advantages of photo stations

One very positive aspect is that they use green energy and that it is never wasted. As we have already explained, the energy generated through the sun’s rays is stored until it is used.

But … how much does it cost to charge an electric car at a photo station? Well, the truth is that most photo stations on public roads are of free use or very inexpensive, as well as easy to use. They work as a self-service system that anyone can use. You just have to connect the hose of the electric vehicle to the charging point. That easy.

In addition, we find photo stations for all kinds of needs: those that are prepared for slow charging systems, those that are prepared for fast charging… That is, for customers with more or less time.

Domestic photo stations

Do you know how much it costs to install a photo station? The only economic cost has to do with its installation and maintenance. The production of energy is free, it is powered by sunlight. In addition, and as with other facilities of this type, a photo station for private use, installed in the garden of a house, can even produce an energy surplus that the home could take advantage of if we distribute the unused energy to the home network in recharging the vehicle, lowering the household electricity bill. In this link you will find more information.

As you can see, all are advantages, not even the weather is a problem.

Rubí’s 3 Photo Stations

You can think of it as a long-term project, and this is the case if we think about the generalization of this type of facility. However, it is already possible to find a photo station near our homes. For example, we find three! in Ruby. The last photo station built in Rubí was the Rubí Forma building; It is the third in the city and is added to the photo stations of the Masía de Can Serra and the Local Police. These facilities provide photovoltaic energy both for the charging of electric vehicles and for the energy self-consumption of the municipal facilities to which they are associated.

The new Rubí Forma facility already has 35 registered users who can plug in their vehicles for free. In Rubí, for some time now, they are committed to more sustainable mobility and to encourage the use of electric vehicles, the city has launched a plan so that the city has a network of efficient charging points available to everyone .

The Rubí Forma photo station has two semi-fast charging hoses that charge the vehicle in 3-5 hours of connection and a fast charge with three connectors that allow 80% of the car battery to be charged in 30 minutes. In total, these facilities save 9,500 euros a year in electricity bills

At Factorernergia, we have long opted for the electric vehicle and its charging points. Regarding the recharging points, at SP Solar we make a specific product available to our clients, Factor ECOMobility We believe that private charging is the key to the development of the electric car, that is why we finance the project and the installation of the recharging point in the plaza private community parking, taking care of all administrative procedures and obtaining the necessary permits.
